Memahami konsep dan prinsip tentang struktur biomolekul; hubungan antara struktur biomolekul dengan fungsinya; bioenergitika; metabolisme energi dari karbohidrat; fotosintesis; penyimpanan dan aliran informasi genetik./Understanding the structure of biomolecules, relationship between structure and function of biomolecule, metabolism of carbohydrate, photosyntesis, storage and flow of genetic information.
Bahan Kajian/Subject Matters
(1) Konsep Biokimia: hakekat biokimia, hubungan biokimia dengan ilmu-ilmu yang lain, dan aplikasi biokimia dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. (2) Pondasi Biokimia: domain-domain makluk hidup, gugus fungsi, biomolekul dan hirarki molekular sel. (3) Struktur dan Fungsi Biomolekul: protein dengan penekanan pada enzim, lipid, dan asam nukleat. (4) Bioenergitika: energy bebas gibbs, redoks dan potensial reduksi serta phosphoryl group transfer potential dalam sistem hidup. (5) Metabolisme Karbohidrat: selayang pandang metabolisme, glikolisis, glukoneogenesis, metabolisme karbohidrat bukan glukosa, siklus asam sitrat, rantai transfer elektron dan fosforilasi oksidatif. (6) Fotosintesis: fase gelap, fase terang, fotosintesis nonsiklik (skema Z) dan fotosintesis siklik. (7) Penyimpanan dan Aliran Informasi Genetika: biosintesis protein, mutasi, PCR dan dasar-dasar DNA rekombinan./(1) The concepts of Biochemistry: nature of biochemistry, relationship between biochemistry with other sciences, and applications of biochemistry in daily life; (2) Foundation of Biochemistry: domains of life, functional groups, biomolecules and hirarchy of molecular cells; (3) Structure and Function of Biomolecules: protein with an emphasis on enzymes, lipids, and nucleic acids; (4) Bioenergytics: gibbs free energy, redox and reduction potential and phosphoryl group transfer potential in biological systems; (5) Metabolism of Carbohydrate: overview of metabolism, glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, catabolism carbohydrate other than glucose, citric acid cycle, electron transfer chain and oxidative phosphorylation; (6) Photosyntesis: dark and light fase, noncyclic and cyclic photosintesis; (7) Storage and Flow of Genetic Information: protein biosythesis, mutation, PCR and principle of DNA recombinant.
Tujuan/Objectives
Setelah mempelajari bahan kajian biokimia umum melalui ceramah, studi literatur, presentasi, diskusi, dan telaah artikel ilmiah, mahasiswa dapat memahami struktur dan fungsi serta interaksi antar biomolekul dalam sistem hidup dan metabolisme energi yang melibatkan karbohidrat./Have been studied the Subject Matters of general biochemistry through speech, literature study, presentation, discussion, and paper review, students are able to understance structure, function, and the correlation of biomolecules (protein, carbohydrates, and fat/oil) in biology system and carbohydrate metabolism.
